Bullying comes in lots of different shapes and sizes, but
there are some common signs to help you identify if you’re taking things too
far and if your behaviour could be considered bullying. Ask yourself these few
simple questions:
Do you tease
people when you’re in a group?
Have people said to you that your behaviour bothers them? Do you force people to do things even if they don’t want
to?
- Do you exclude someone from activities on a regular basis?
- Do you spread rumours about people?
- Do you say things to people that you wouldn’t want people saying to you?
- Do you regularly upset people by the things you do or say?
- Do you feel good when someone else stuffs up?
- Have you noticed that people never come to you for help or advice?
- Do you always try to change people’s minds if things don’t go your way?
If you answered ‘yes’ to a bunch of these questions, it’s
possible that you might be showing signs of bullying-like behaviour. It’s a
good idea to keep these questions in mind whenever you’re out and about
spending time with others, to help keep yourself in check.
