Sexism in Schools

Sexism is an issue affecting every school and college.  Sexual harassment and regular sexist remarks are patterns that most girls and young women come to view as ‘normal’.
“Schools and colleges have an important role to play in breaking down stereotypes but we know that education policy is making it harder and not easier for pupils and staff in the everyday reality of schools.
Campaign
The National Education Union understands the pressures that schools face daily which is why it is leading a campaign to tackle sexism in schools through a whole school approach and collective action.
You can get involved by emailing us to order stickers for your school.  If you are a rep you can download our new advice on tackling sexism in schools which has a short survey on sexism in your school/college which can be used with your members.
